Are you new to kayaking? This is the place to start! River Kayaking 1 is the first class in our river kayaking series. In this two day class beginning kayakers develop the foundation and skills necessary to continue on their own with the exciting sport of river kayaking. On site rolling pool, 3:1 instructor to student ratio and expert, personable instructors make for an empowering experience.

RK2 is designed to be taken immediately following RK1. RK2 reinforces basic skills and moves on to critical concepts such as river reading and safety/rescue. Our professional instructors create a safe, dynamic learning environment tailored to your learning style.

RK3 is the final segment of our 6-day Beginning River Kayaking program. Surfing, rescue, roll enhancement and more advanced read and run skills are integrated into this course.

Current Adventures’ Safety & Rescue Class is specifically formatted to meet the needs of paddlers. River reading considerations, recognition of potential hazards, skills and equipment necessary for rescues are all unique for individual kayakers and canoeists. Be a good paddling partner. Rapid Start is a whitewater paddling course is for those who are interested in learning and progressing more quickly than our regular 6-day River Kayaking program.

“Step It Up” combines individual skill building assessment and instruction, with downriver excitement and education. Hone or refresh your paddling and river reading skills, work on your river roll, learn the different lines, hazards, and play spots on all these popular runs!

Current Adventures continues to be the local & regional source for slalom training. We have a personal love & enjoyment of this aspect of paddling and offer the only gate training venue in Central California.

Inflatable kayaking is an easy, safe way to try out whitewater kayaking and have some great fun while you’re at it!

Sea Kayaking 1 is designed as the first step in learning to paddle touring and sea kayaks. Learn about proper equipment selection and basic paddling safety and techniques.
