2010 brings us the 29th American River Festival.

As its name implies, the American River Festival is all about the river. The primary events are for competitive kayakers, including the whitewater rodeo and slalom competitions. But we also place a special emphasis on families having fun together on and around the river. There will be a number of vendors and activities appropriate for younger kids and families.

Proceeds from the Festival go to further the efforts of American Whitewater, a national organization dedicated to conserving America’s whitewater resources, Friends of the River, California’s state wide river conservation organization, the American Canoe Association, which works to promote paddling sports and is involved in the conservation of open waters for those sports, and the American River Conservancy, a local conservation group that has been protecting the American and Cosumnes River basins for over 16 years.
