Here is your opportunity to learn the skills and become familiar with the equipment necessary to safely venture out beyond lake paddling into bay or protected ocean environments. Take this next step in opening up the whole new world of sea kayaking and the exploration & discovery of secluded shorelines, wildlife and scenery that it allows. Follow up with Sea Kayaking 3 to get ready for coastal excursions!
In addition to reviewing basic paddling and safety techniques, we’ll spend time on capsize recoveries and cover topics such as tides, currents, and weather conditions. Learn how to plan your outings with the conditions working for, rather than against, you! Sea Kayaking 2 includes a card of completion that will facilitate renting equipment from most California kayak rental shops.
