Join our experienced guides for a paddling experience you won’t forget. Paddlers on this trip frequently spot sea otters and harbor seals. Pelicans are only one of over 200 species of birds that live in or pass through Elkhorn Slough. This is an incredible outing for families, and folks of all ages and skill levels. In fact Elkhorn Slough is a perfect spot for beginning paddlers to learn and explore. We use very stable kayaks and limit the number of paddlers on each outing. Keeping paddling groups small reduces our impact on the resources and residents of the area. It also gives you the opportunity for lots of direct interaction with your instructor/guide. The instructor for this trip has over 20 years experience teaching and exploring on Elkhorn Slough!

Kayak and all necessary paddling equipment are provided and included in the cost of this trip.

The San Francisco Bay is an incredible wonder of converging forces of nature. Earthquake faults, several rivers and the regular effects of the wind, tides, and humans all play a role in the continuing formation and development of the Bay. Kayaking offers an awesome way to view many of the area’s hidden treasures. Explore secluded lakes and sloughs, the quiet nesting beaches of Caspian Terns or the marshes that harbor the rare Clapper Rails. Many of our classes and tours on the east side of the Bay are offered in a unique partnership with, and through, the East Bay Regional Park District. Other outings are designed as custom trips for corporate groups, team building adventures or as a fantastic way to go exploring with a group of family and friends.

Client’s Comments: “Thanks so much for taking my class on the kayaking trip. I really enjoyed all the games; they gave me a chance to test out maneuvers before setting off down the river. My favorite part was when we went down the San Juan rapid. I hope we can do the trip again. It was so much fun!” ~ Katy, middle school student

“My daughter and I took 2 of your classes and are jazzed about Yaking and are very impressed with your staff. Thanks again and hope to see you soon.” ~ Larry Schultz and Katie Schultz.
