Four days of wilderness splendor with Current Adventures . Scenery, whitewater rapids, wild camps and delicious food. Our experienced kayak instructors and raft guides have been sharing this Wild and Scenic Rogue River Canyon with paddlers for 15 years or more! Rainey Falls, and the fish ladder, Black Bar and Blossom Bar, wild Salmon jumping in the river, and green water boiling into a froth in Mule Creek Canyon and Coffee Pot, these are just a few of the fabulous memories you’ll bring back from this “must do” kayak trip. We have full raft support and experienced kayak instructor/guides along on these trips to make it the very best experience for everyone. Bring family or friends on the rafts and share the spirit of this wilderness river while you surf and explore from the seat of your kayak, fulfilling your dreams and fantasies and planning for rivers yet to paddle. This is the classic river for your first multi-day river trip, and sets the stage for future excursions to other wild places like the Grand Canyon and Utah’s Green River.

Join our experienced guides for a paddling experience you won’t forget. Paddlers on this trip frequently spot sea otters and harbor seals. Pelicans are only one of over 200 species of birds that live in or pass through Elkhorn Slough. This is an incredible outing for families, and folks of all ages and skill levels. In fact Elkhorn Slough is a perfect spot for beginning paddlers to learn and explore. We use very stable kayaks and limit the number of paddlers on each outing. Keeping paddling groups small reduces our impact on the resources and residents of the area. It also gives you the opportunity for lots of direct interaction with your instructor/guide. The instructor for this trip has over 20 years experience teaching and exploring on Elkhorn Slough!

Kayak and all necessary paddling equipment are provided and included in the cost of this trip.

Dates: see below
Cost: $79.00
Kids love kayaking and they take to it almost instantly. Our kid’s program is a great way to harness some of their boundless energy. We use equipment specifically designed for kids, with fun & water safety as our primary goals. They learn through a variety of games, group activities & exploration. Beginning classes are taught in the safe, controlled environment of Lake Natoma and special hideaways like Swampland and Berry Pond. Kids always leave these classes thrilled & excited by the experience & wanting more. All equipment is provided.
Client Comments: “I had a wonderful time with you teaching me how to kayak. Thank you for showing me cool animals, giving me handy tips and showing me how to steer. You all helped me have a great time on the lake and river. Thanks a lot!” ~ Kenny – age 9
“Thanks to you, John, not only for the three days of kayak instruction you led for Conner and Dustin, but also for your inspirational attitude. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the kayaking and came away with a respectfully cautious attitude and a desire to do more kayaking. What a great concept to instill in young people that exercise, learning, and fun can come with new adventures like kayaking.” ~Rosemary and Tom
“My son Santiago just completed the kids kayaking class this afternoon. I have NEVER seen him this excited about any outdoor activity. Thank you so much for putting on such a great class! ” ~Roberto
Progression: Kids have a great time repeating this class. With instructor approval they can take Junior Beginning Kayaking.
