Cancellation and Rescheduling Affect the Reservation Process
From the time you place your initial reservation through the time of your class or trip departure, Current Adventures holds space for you on that specific class or trip date. The following paragraphs illustrate the reasons we must enforce our cancellation policy.

Once your reservation is confirmed by receipt of payment, we consider you reserved for that class or trip. At that time, we begin making costly preparations for your adventure and also turn away potential clients in order to reserve your space. Cancellations at this point cost us quite a bit of money.

When we’re setting up a class a certain number of students is required to make it financially feasible for us to run the class. If one of our students cancels or reschedules it can affect whether the class is run or not.  If the class has to be cancelled other students may choose a refund over rescheduling which leads to a loss of income for us.

Other client’s reservations are affected by your reservation. Frequently our clients link multiple days of instruction involving several classes. Consecutive days on the water are very valuable for quick progression and cancellation of a class can leave a gap in their instruction.

Our instructors and guides are not Monday through Friday 8 to 5 employees.  They’ve set aside time in their schedule to teach your class or guide your trip.  When we cancel a class it affects not only their income but also alternate plans they might have made.

Finally every time a reservation is cancelled or rescheduled it involves work for our office staff. Whether simply rescheduling your reservation or other client’s reservations that were sharing your class this additional cost cuts into our already slim profit margin.

Hopefully you now have some insight into the complexities of running a kayak school. We’ll make every effort to accommodate changes, however, we appreciate your patience and understanding when it’s not possible.
