In all our years of running the Rogue River, we have never had the opportunity to access the historic lodges for accommodations until the last three years, and the fact is that it is a FANTASTIC way to experience the river and it’s long and unique history, wildlife and scenery. These are the oft heard of and always envied semi-rustic lodges that have stood the test of time along Oregon’s classic Wild and Scenic river.

This year our outfitter has managed once again to make available to us a PREMIERE option to explore the Rogue’s Springtime flows and lush scenery while spending each night in one of the beautiful lodges along the route including Black Bar, Marial, and the oft touted Paradise Lodge. Not only is this a rare opportunity but it makes the perfect trip for taking your parents or other non-camping or non-paddling family members or friends group so they can experience this awesome adventure as well! The Spring is an amazing time to be on the Rogue and the lodges are unmatched in their rustic charm coupled with glamping “luxury” and great food and comforts not often found on ANY multi day river trip. Its a wilderness adventure with a super comfortable evening and morning off river bonus.

wildflowers as well as an abundance of great side creeks and waterfalls cascading into the river

Wildflowers will be out, water levels higher than summer or Fall flows and the forest will be lush and green in it’s re-emergence from Winter.

  1. Hello! I’m interested in going on the Rogue River trip in 2024. I’m a class 3 paddler with decent roll trying to get to the next level. The past two summers I have kayaked the Main Salmon with Team Tarkio and I loved it. I would be solo (just me). Thanks for any info. Kerri
    (from Juneau, Alaska).

    1. Hello Keri, my apologies for the delayed response. Holidays seemed to have allowed your note to get dropped down where I didn’t see it. Penny may have responded via another channel but to answer your inquiry, we do have our dates confirmed now for our Rogue River Lodge to Lodge trip. Dates are: Arrive in Galice on May 25th, put in on the 26th and have 4 days on the water with lodge stays starting the first night in GAlice ( 25th) and through the night of the 28th. Take out and return shuttle to Galice included on the 29th. If you are still interested in this trip, best way to reach us is by email to info@CurrentAdventures.com or by calling Penny in our reservations office at 530-626-3363. It’s a fantastic trip with the Spring river levels, side creeks flowing and waterfalls as well as wildflowers blooming everywhere and the wildlife tends to be quite active as well.
Hope to have you join us on this VERY unique option for the Rogue!!. (<: P.S. on the outside chance that you know them, my friends ( and ex college roommate) Christine and Kurt Kondzela live there in Juneau ( Auke BAy perhaps is their official). She works for Noaa and the Auke Bay Marine Lab I believe still. Beautiful area- especially hiking up Mt Roberts or flying back over the TAku Ice fields on the back side!
